Michael J. Goldberg Marlowe & Company
This is essential reading on the Enneagram in the context of the world of work. The book is scholarly without being elitist, and gives a knowledge of Enneagram basics. The case studies are enlightening of the type but also interesting as pure story. The book deals with leadership style, decision making, how each personality learns and works, and what happens under stress or when the type is fulfilled. It shows how to get the best out of each type and what to avoid. This is useful, practical and readable.

Helen Palmer Harper San Francisco
Any Helen Palmer book on the Enneagram is worth reading. She is one of the foremost authorities in our generation. This one seems to rework much that is found in her original book “The Enneagram” in an even more accessible way. On top of that, she relates each type with each of the other types in personal and business relationships, pointing to the upside and downside of each relationship. Perhaps the only criticism is that there could have been more depth and detail on each relationship.
Karen Webb HarperCollins
If you are beginning your search of the Enneagram, you couldn’t start with a better book with all the essentials in concise and readable form. This is a book from arguably the UK’s pre-eminent teacher.
Helen Palmer HarperCollins
The basic bible for the Enneagram! This book covers all the elements you will need and is a must, even if you begin with something more elementary.
David N. Daniels HarperCollins Publishers
If time allows you to read only one book on the Enneagram, this is it. Daniel’s book has many strengths: first, it is written in the most concise and simple language. Second, it specifically helps you to type yourself in as scientific a way as possible. Thirdly, it has a number of ‘practices’ for developing yourself, which we have found extremely useful.
Richard Rohr, Andreas Ebert The crossroad publishing company
The Enneagram is intrinsically spiritual but Richard Rohr makes the case for its broadly spiritual and specifically religious use. His style is simple and hard hitting, and he does not soften the edges for you - this from a man who has a huge intellect and great humility. Do not miss this off your reading list.
